Meet Our Expert Dental Team
Dr. Kal Shah and Dr. Joe Favia lead our esteemed team of dental professionals. With their exceptional qualifications and unwavering passion for dentistry, they ensure that every patient receives the highest quality of care. Both Dr. Kal Shah, Dr. Joe Favia specializes in dental implants and oral surgery, and are expert in cosmetic dentistry. Their combined expertise and commitment to continuing education ensure that you receive the most advanced and comprehensive dental treatments available.
Dr. Joe Favia
Born in Elmhurst, Illinois and grew up in Villa Park until 1976 when his family moved to Bloomingdale where he attended Westfield Jr. High School.
Graduated from Lake Park High School in Roselle in 1985 and attended New Mexico State University earning a B.S. degree in Biochemistry with a minor in Spanish in 1989. He is a proud and active alumnus to the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity and graduated from Loyola University School of Dentistry in 1993.
Attended extensive seminars at the prestigious L.D. Pankey Institute for Dental Education and Peter Dawson’s Center for Advanced Dental Studies.
Founder and Chairman of The Windy City Classic Celebrity Golf Tournament since 1997. Over 1 million dollars raised for The University of Chicago Cancer Research Foundation in memory of Walter Payton and Jim “Jimmy V” Valvano.
Dr. Alec Joy
Dr. Alec Joy grew up in Northwest Indiana. He attended Purdue University where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Sports Science and went on to receive his Doctor of Dental Medicine at Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine – Illinois.
A member of the American Dental Association, Chicago Dental Society, Illinois State Dental Society, Academy of General Dentistry, American Academy of Implant Dentistry, and International College of Oral Implantologists.
Dr. Joy is committed to life-long learning that will bring advanced and effective dental treatments to his patients. He takes pride in providing his patients with comprehensive care to address their unique needs whether simple or complex. Upon graduation, Dr. Joy has taken multiple continuing education courses covering implants, implant supported dentures, guided bone regeneration, cosmetic restorations, clear aligner braces, treatment of obstructive sleep apnea, among many others. He is also a member of the prestigious Spear Education community where he takes courses regularly.
In his free time, Dr. Joy can be found at the gym, the golf course, spending time with his growing family, or rooting for the Chicago Blackhawks and Bears. A fun fact about Dr. Joy is that he played Junior A hockey before attending college.
